Mathira Constituency is one of the constituencies in Nyeri County. According to the 2019 Housing and Population Census, Mathira Constituency has a population of 158,960 people.
According to IEBC (2017), Mathira Constituency has 99, 496 registered voters.
Mathira Constituency is a classified tropical area characterized by two rainy seasons with over 77.5% of the land arable. The main economic activity practiced in Mathira constituency is small-scale mixed farming. Cash crop farming is also practiced, tea and coffee being the main cash crops grown in many part of the constituency.
NG-CDF Mathira constituency has been able to make significant changes primarily on education, security, bursary, sports and environment sectors.
Mathira NG-CDF interventions and programs integrate the development aspirations envisioned in the Sustainable Development Goals, the Kenya Vision 2030, and the ‘Big Four’ Development Agenda. The interventions and programs identify measures that aid in the realization of the constituency vision in the light of the Kenya Vision 2030 which seeks to provide a safe and secure environment for prosperity of all citizens.
